Just as it did in 2016, the traveling Baseball Hall of Fame tour will make stops at several cities over the course of the 2017 season.
Last year, the Hall of Fame Tour made stops at several major league and minor league cities. Our own Kevin Reichard visited the exhibit when it made an appearance outside of Modern Woodmen Park–home of the Quad Cities River Bandits (Low A; Midwest League)–last summer, and noted its ability to incorporate famed artifacts from the game’s past with modern technology.
“What’s spectacular isn’t the memorabilia, but the emphasis on the baseball fan experience, with shared memories crossing generations,” he wrote. “Baseball is surely the most bucolic of the four major sports, but here technology is used very effectively to convey baseball’s appeal and the great fan experience most will encounter at today’s ballpark. The technology is present throughout the five mobile galleries and the IMAX Theatre.”
This year, the Hall of Fame Tour is making several stops. It kicked off with an appearance at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick that ran from March 11-26, and is now moving on to Frisco, TX, where it is being staged in a parking lot at Dr Pepper Ballpark through April 14.
There will be several other stops this year, as Frisco will be followed by Round Rock’s Dell Diamond, April 20-29; Tulsa’s ONEOK Field, May 5-13; Albuquerque’s Isotopes Park, May 19-27; Des Moines’ Principal Park, June 3-11; and the CenturyLink Convention Center in Omaha, June 17-28.
