Dust Devils, Padres Extend Affiliation

tri-city-dust-devils-logoThe Tri-City Dust Devils (Short Season A; Northwest League) and the San Diego Padres extended their player development contract (PDC) through the 2018 season.

“The Tri-City Dust Devils organization, under the leadership of Brent Miles and Derrel Ebert, has been a great partner for the last two seasons, and we look forward to continuing our relationship,” said Padres Executive Vice President and General Manager A.J. Preller. “Tri-City provides an important environment for players to acclimate to the Padres organization, especially given the influx of young talent into our player development system.”

The Dust Devils began their affiliation with the Padres in 2015, a season that saw Tri-City win a Northwest League Northern Division Championship after completing a 42-34 regular season.

“The Padres have been a fantastic partner for the Dust Devils, on and off the field,” said Dust Devils President Brent Miles. “They have generously supported our local community through programs such as Home Runs for Kids and First Responders Night.”

Dust Devils Vice President-General Manager Derrel Ebert added, “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the Padres. They have been a first class organization throughout our partnership and we look forward to many more successful years together.”

“I’d like to thank the Tri-City Dust Devils for their partnership over the past two seasons,” said Padres President and CEO Mike Dee, in an appearance last night at Gesa Stadium. “I’d also be remiss not to recognize the Tri-City community, Dust Devils Booster Club and host families, who have all embraced our organization and our players. We look forward to the next two seasons, and beyond.”
