Senators Introduce Life-Sized Bobbleheads

The Harrisburg Senators (Class AA; Eastern League) are making a very unique addition to FNB Field: The One & Only World Famous, Life Sized Bobblehead Hall of Fame.

Bobbleheads have always been a popular giveaway around baseball, but the Senators are taking the tradition a step further by creating life sized bobbleheads that will be on display at the ballpark. The players depicted will be members of the team’s Bobblehead Hall of Fame, with the trio of Vladimir Guerrero, Cliff Floyd, and Bryce Harper forming the first class of inductees. Given the height of all three players—Floyd is 6’5”, while Guerrero and Harper are both 6’3”—these bobbleheads should make a looming impression.

Of course, the team is not stopping there. Guerrero and Floyd will both be present at FNB Field for their respective induction dates, which are April 16 and July 9. Prior to those games, as well as Harper’s enshrinement on August 13, replicas of the bobbleheads will be available for the first 1,500 fans in attendance.

“This is something we are so excited about,” said Senators President Kevin Kulp. “Being our 30th season, we wanted to begin a Hall of Fame Concept, but we didn’t want to do it in the traditional sense.  Nothing wrong with that, but we wanted to do something special and something that hadn’t been done before. And who doesn’t want a picture with a giant life sized bobblehead??”

As an aside, the timing of induction for all three of these players is pretty good, especially for Guerrero and Harper. Harper is the reigning National League MVP winner, and Guerrero will become eligible for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame this December, so fans who turn out for his appearance in Harrisburg could catch a glimpse of a possible soon-to-be Hall of Famer.

The One & Only World Famous, Life Sized Bobblehead Hall of Fame come with its own logo (see the featured photo), which was designed by Brandiose. The life sized bobbleheads are going to become a fixture at FNB Field, as the team plans to continue inducting former Senators over ensuing seasons.
