Marauders move McKechnie Field games after canopies deemed unsafe

McKechnie Field

The Bradenton Marauders (High Class A; Florida State League) moved tonight’s and tomorrow night’s games from McKechnie Field after inspectors determined the roofs over the first-base and third-base sections were unsafe.

The problems were discovered during a routine assessment.

The games were shifted to Charlotte Sports Park, the home of the Marauders’ opponent, the Charlotte Stone Crabs.

The roofs will be taken down this week for repair. It’s not yet determined when they will replaced; the earliest would be the end of the current season.

Besides serving as the home of the Marauders, McKechnie Field is also the spring home of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
