Five County Stadium will be the sight of All-Star action next year, as the Carolina Mudcats are slated to host the 2018 Carolina League All-Star Classic

“It is our honor to bring the Carolina League’s future Major League stars to Zebulon for next year’s All-Star Classic,” said Mudcats vice president and general manager Joe Kremer. “I’m excited to see this event come to Five County Stadium for all of our great fans here in Eastern North Carolina.”

The midsummer classic event will feature All-Stars from all ten Carolina League member teams and a slew of the best and brightest young stars in the game.

The 2018 All-Star Classic will be the third All-Star event held by the Mudcats at Five County Stadium since the club’s arrival in Zebulon in 1991. It will also be the first for the Mudcats in the club’s Carolina League era of play.

The Mudcats last hosted an All-Star event in Zebulon in 2008 when the Southern League All-Star Game was played at Five County Stadium on July 14, 2008. The Mudcats also hosted a mid-season All-Star event in 1997 when the Southern League All-Stars faced off against the Seattle Mariners at Five County Stadium on July 21, 1997.

Additional information about the events surrounding the 2018 Carolina League All-Star Classic will be made available at a later date.
