A personnel move today worth noting: Industry veteran Dave Chase is the new general manager of the Schaumburg Boomers (independent; Frontier League).
Chase was most recently general manager at the startup Sussex County Miners (independent; Can-Am League). Before that he was commissioner of the summer-collegiate Prospect League and president and GM of the Memphis Redbirds (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League).
“The Boomers have an incredible fan base, stadium and championship-level talent both on the field and in the front office,” Chase said in a press statement. “I am excited to join this world-class organization and hope to continue to give the Village of Schaumburg and baseball fans of the surrounding communities something special to celebrate for many seasons to come.”
The Boomers are owned by Pat and Lindy Salvi.
