Classic Park to Receive New Videoboard

Classic Park videoboard

Plans for a new videoboard at Classic Park are taking shape, as the Lake County Captains (Low A; Midwest League) are installing the display.

The videoboard, which will be provided by Panosonic, will be in place for the 2017 season, and is estimated to be three times the size of its predecessor. The new display measures 22′ tall by 50.5′ wide and features 1,109 square feet of HD video capability. For comparison, the previous video board was 17′ tall and 23.5′ wide and came in at just over 400 square feet of standard definition viewing area.

The 2017 season will mark the 15th season for the Captains in Eastlake and this new video board will provide fans with a drastically improved ballpark entertainment experience. The new, LED video board will be the largest, single capital improvement project in Classic Park history. The team and ownership group are excited for the project to begin and to unveil it for the start of the season. In addition the video board, as part of the upcoming promotional schedule release the team will be announcing other promotions tied into the Captains’ 15-season anniversary as well.

Lake County Captains majority owner Peter Carfagna said, “We are excited for the Captains to celebrate 15 seasons in Lake County this year. This investment into the ballpark and the fan experience at Classic Park is one we’re looking forward to sharing with our great fans for this season and many more to come.”

Along with the new video board, the Captains will also be making significant upgrades in the operations booth of the ballpark, including a new operating system and hardware to operate the video board. The new system from Click Effects will enable the video board screen to be partitioned into different sections, allowing for flexibility to show fans more game information, real-time statistics, headshots and advertisements on the board throughout the game.

The Captains are working with Anthony James Partners (AJP) to oversee the bidding, project design and installation of the new video board. The Captains and AJP worked with several different bidders on this project and chose Panasonic due to their great product, attention to detail throughout the process and commitment to ensuring the new board will meet and exceed fan expectations for years to come.
