Ducks to Welcome 7 Millionth Fan

Long Island Ducks

A major attendance milestone is nearing for the Long Island Ducks (independent; Atlantic League), as the team will soon welcome its seven millionth fan. It is likely that the seven millionth fan will enter Bethpage Ballpark this weekend.

As of September 8, the Ducks are just 20,812 fans away from reaching that magical number. Based upon their current average of 5,213 fans per game, the team would welcome that 7 millionth fan to the ballpark this weekend (Sept. 9 to 11) when the Ducks host the York Revolution.

Upon reaching the milestone, the Ducks would be the first team in Atlantic League history to host 7 million fans despite beginning play two seasons after the league’s inception. Long Island has led the Atlantic League in attendance in 13 of its first 16 seasons of play and also has welcomed a league-record 661 past-capacity crowds since the inaugural 2000 season. Most recently, the Ducks led the league in both total (358,317) and average (5,269) attendance during the 2015 season and currently lead the league in average attendance for 2016 at 6,002-seat Bethpage Ballpark.

On the date when the 7 millionth fan enters the ballpark, he or she will be the recipient of a valuable prize package and a special in-game presentation to recognize the historic milestone. To cap off the evening, the 7 millionth fan’s visit to Bethpage Ballpark be prominently displayed on the Ducks’ official web site as one of the top news stories.
