DuckBlindLastStand

The Madison Mallards (summer collegiate; Northwoods League) are overhauling the Great Dane Duck Blind after this season. First unveiled in 2001, Great Dane Duck Blind (shown above) will stand for the Mallards’ remaining home games in 2016 before being demolished to make way for a new structure.

The popular and iconic venue that offers all you can eat and drink with a wide array of ballpark food and over 30 different beers on tap will be re-built in time for the start of the 2017 season.

The innovative 1,212 person capacity Great Dane Duck Blind was amongst the first venues in sports to offer the combination of a unique fan experience partnered with a wide variety of bottomless craft beer and all you can eat food.  The venues popularity grew quickly and by the summer of 2003 it was consistently selling out.  Several rounds of improvements and renovations followed on a nearly annual basis to keep up with fan demand.

Great Dane Duck Blind by the numbers:

Fans 432,000
Burgers 345,000
Hot Dogs 116,000
Brats 419,040
Kegs of Beer 18,000

The majority of the venue will be demolished to make way for the upgraded party area that will retain the Great Dane Duck Blind moniker.  Details for the new venue will become public in the near future.

Fans will have an opportunity to win a party for 20 people in the new Great Dane Duck Blind on opening day in 2017. By purchasing a Great Dane Duck Blind ticket to any of the remaining four Mallards home games, each fan will be automatically entered to win this party.
