Fans of the Nashville Sounds (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) can expect a new amenity this summer, when a mini golf course will be added to First Tennessee Park. In partnership with Strategic Hospitality and Oz Arts Nashville, the Sounds will unveil The Country Club at the Band Box, a mini golf course that is inspired by local art.

Located in an expanded portion of The Band Box area in right field, The Country Club at The Band Box will be a nine-hole course that exhibits art work by local and regional artists. Strategic Hospitality has tapped the locally-based Landy Gardner to handle the design, while local artist Jeff Stamper will work on the development of select holes. Construction is set to begin over the coming weeks, allowing The Country Club at the Band Box to be up and running in early July.

Max Goldberg, co-owner of Strategic Hospitality, and Oz Nashville President/CEO Tim Ozgener are connected through the arts, as both are board members for the Arts and Business Council (ABC).

“The Band Box has been an incredible partnership and the opportunity to work with OZ Arts and the ABC on another project with the Nashville Sounds is such a great example of the public/private partnerships that Nashville does so well,” said Goldberg. “We are thrilled to create this fun and cultural new element at The Band Box for Sounds fans to enjoy.”

With this expansion, the Sounds will look to add to First Tennessee’s Park already popular Band Box. For more on why that area already makes for a such good amenity, check out Kevin Reichard’s ballpark visit story from last season.
