Cute Cutters critters on tap for ’15 jersey

Williamsport Crosscutters logoAnother cool jersey from the Williamsport Crosscutters (short season A; NY-Penn League), who are asking pet owners to submit photos of their pets for possible inclusion on limited-edition Cutters Pet Jerseys.

On July 10-12 the Williamsport Crosscutters will wear special jerseys featuring pet photos from Cutters fans along with picture of pets up for adoption from the Lycoming County SPCA. It’s all part of Pet Friendly Weekend (July 10-12) with the Crosscutters presented by Pedigree. The weekend will feature special prize giveaways and samples for pet owners and culminate with the Cutters annual Bark in the Park Night on July 12 when fans can bring their dog to the ballpark for a game and have a chance to win $10,000 in the Canine Cash Scramble while enjoying other pet related activities.

Also at the Bark in the Park game, the game-worn and autographed Pet Jerseys, sponsored in part by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, will be auctioned off to fans via silent auction with proceeds benefitting the SPCA.

“We’re not sure this has ever been done in Minor League Baseball, but we thought it might be a great way to raise money for the SPCA which does such great work in our area,” said Cutters Vice President of Marketing Gabe Sinicropi.

“There is a special bond between people and their pets,” stated Lycoming County SPCA Executive Director Victoria Stryker. “What better way to show that affection than by having their pet featured on a Cutters jersey and help homeless animals at the same time?”

Fans that would like their pet to be considered for the jersey should send their photo(s) and pet’s name via email to mail@crosscutters.com by April 27. Any type of pet is eligible and only emailed photos will be considered.

Last season the Crosscutters donned perhaps the ugliest uniforms in the history of professional baseball. We assume there will be cuter critters for the Cutters in 2015.
