Saints add another founding partner: Treasure Island

St. Paul Saints logoWe have another founding partner for the St. Paul Saints (independent; American Association) at CHS Field: Treasure Island Resorts and Casino, which will also lend its name to specific areas of the ballpark.

The eight-year partnership is unique in that it brands two major areas in the ballpark. One of the specialty group areas, the Terrace, will now carry a pirate ship theme and be named the Treasure Island Terrace. The berm, a grass hill over the left field wall behind the bullpens, will be named Treasure Island Berm. In addition, Treasure Island will utilize CHS Field for the final games of a select youth tournament.

“The partnership is a great fit with both the Saint Paul Saints and Treasure Island Resort & Casino being in the business of entertainment,” said Ron Johnson, Prairie Island Indian Community Tribal Council President. “When we first sat down with the Saints to talk about a possible partnership it was obvious that we would have incredible opportunities to create an even more exciting experience for the Saints fans at their new ballpark.”

The Treasure Island Terrace will provide a group experience unlike any other at CHS Field. The four-tiered group area, that holds between 125-150 people, will give you the feeling of being on the top deck of the ship or down below on the lower deck. The space is great for large groups interested in their own exclusive area to enjoy the game. The private terrace, with spectacular views of both the field and downtown Saint Paul, will allow groups to choose from five different food options ranging from ballpark fare to high end barbecue, all included in the ticket price.

Another special area in the ballpark is the Treasure Island Berm, which provides fans an opportunity to catch some rays while relaxing on a grass hill in left field. The $5 ticket, the most affordable at the ballpark, will have a distinct island theme, where fans should feel at home wearing their Hawaiian shirts and leis.

The final major piece of the partnership consists of CHS Field acting as host of the championship games of Treasure Island’s youth baseball tournament. The annual tournament is held at the Prairie Island Sports Complex, which houses four baseball fields, and is open to youth teams from around the area. All games leading up to the championship games will be played at the Sports Complex. The Prairie Island Indian Community and Tribal Council are strong supporters of getting young people involved in sports, as it helps build leadership and life skills.

“We are incredibly excited to introduce Treasure Island Resort & Casino as a Founding Partner at CHS Field,” said Saints Executive Vice President and General Manager Derek Sharrer. “With our shared focus on entertainment, family, and community, Treasure Island and the Saints are a natural fit. We’re so appreciative of their commitment to making this partnership fun for both Saints fans and all who join us for events at CHS Field.”
