Personnel news in Omaha, Northwest Arkansas

Omaha Storm ChasersWe have personnel news today from the Omaha Storm Chasers (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Class AA; Texas League).

Rob Sternberg joins the Storm Chasers as the new Marketing and Promotions Manager. Sternberg will head all marketing efforts, oversee the Promotional Calendar, lead all in-game production and have involvement in on-field hosting.  While he is new to Omaha, Sternberg spent the 2011 and 2013 seasons in the Royals Minor League system with Northwest Arkansas Naturals as a Production Assistant and the Production and Public Relations Coordinator respectively. Sternberg hails from Oceanside, New York.

The Storm Chasers have welcomed back a familiar face in Danny Dunbar, who will work with the Storm Chasers sponsors and advertising partners as the new Sponsorship Sales Executive.  Dunbar worked with the Storm Chasers in the Group Sales Department during the 2009-2012 seasons, but spent the last year and a half working in the Hotel/Hospitality industry in Omaha and Salt Lake City.  Dunbar is an Iowa State graduate from Barnum, Iowa.

Every season interns play a vital role in the success of the Storm Chasers, and the team welcomes six new industry up-and-comers to the front office this season:

  • Omar Rios (from Houston, Texas) – Finance and Merchandise Intern
  • Logan Bowman (from Maquon, Illinois) – Group Sales and Ticket Operations Intern
  • Adrian Thomas (from Jackson, Tennessee) – Community Relations and Group Sales Intern
  • Kasen Dudley (from Maui, Hawaii) – Promotions and Game Operations Intern
  • Shawn Fitzpatrick (from Burnt Hills, New York) – Special Events and Game Operations Intern
  • Joe Morgan (from Malvern, Iowa) – Grounds Crew Intern 

“We are very eager to have Rob and Danny join our championship front office.  Rob brings great new promotional energy and ideas while Danny possesses knowledge of the Omaha business community,” said Martie Cordaro, President and General Manager of the Omaha Storm Chasers. “Omar, Logan, Adrian, Kasen, Shawn and Joe each have an enthusiasm that will be evident in Werner Park in 2014.

Benjamin Kelly is the the new Voice of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Kelly, taking over for Steven Davis this year, will become the second radio broadcaster in franchise history.

“We are very excited to have Benjamin join our front office in Northwest Arkansas to bring the excitement of Naturals baseball to our fans,” said Naturals GM Justin Cole. “Benjamin is a very talented announcer with a powerful voice, and I’m positive our fans will appreciate the passion he has for our team and for the game of baseball.”

Kelly joins the Naturals staff after spending the past summer as the number 2 broadcaster for the Schaumburg Boomers (independent; Frontier League).

Benjamin was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to LaGrange, Indiana in 2006. He graduated from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana with a degree in Broadcasting and a minor in Spanish in April of 2013. During his college career, he has broadcast over 200 games including volleyball, basketball, soccer, and football.
