Aeros announce staff promotions

Akron AerosThe Akron Aeros (Class AA; Eastern League) announced several front office changes in its ticketing department, including two promotions and three full-time staff additions.

The two promotions are group sales representative Jeremy Heit, who was promoted to Assistant Director of Ticketing, and group sales representative Mitch Cromes, who was promoted to Senior Manager, Group Sales.

The full-time staff additions come from three members of the 2013 Akron Aeros Ticket Sales Associate Internship Program. Brock Cline has been hired as the Box Office Manager, a role he filled on a part-time basis in 2013. Pete Nugent and Craig Wilson have been hired as Account Executives.

“Our ticketing staff did an amazing job in 2013, helping to increase attendance by nearly 12 percent, and these five individuals were key contributors to that success. All of these staff members came through our Ticket Sales Associate Program, which shows our commitment to hire from within. We’re extremely proud to have them on our team,” said Akron Aeros general manager Jim Pfander.

Heit, a native of Clifton, New Jersey, and a graduate of Penn State University, joined the Akron Aeros in 2011 as part of the Ticket Sales Associate Program after formerly working as an intern with the Tri-City ValleyCats and New Jersey Jackals. He was hired on full-time at the end of the 2011 season in the ticket sales department.

Cromes joined the Akron Aeros as an Associate in 2011 after receiving his graduate degree from Northern Illinois University and has been full-time member ever since. He attended West Liberty Salem High School in Dayton and has an undergraduate degree from Ohio Northern University.

Cline is a native of Hartville and North Canton resident with his wife, Kelsey. He is a graduate of The University of Akron and is currently taking graduate classes at Central Michigan University. Nugent is from Tarentum, Penn., a northern suburb of Pittsburgh and a 2010 graduate of Robert Morris University. Wilson is a Hiram College graduate and the Cleveland native has a Masters of Education in Sports Administration degree from Bowling Green State University.
