Fightin Phils to give away FirstEnergy Stadium — for a day

Reading Fightin PhilsNice promo: The Reading Fightin Phils (Class AA; Eastern League) are giving away their home, FirstEnergy Stadium, to a lucky fan buying ducats on the first day of single-game ticket sales this Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Any Fightin Phils fan that purchases a ticket on Wednesday, February 13 will be automatically entered to “Win FirstEnergy Stadium for a Day”. All those who purchase tickets from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday are eligible for the contest. Fightin Phils fans can increase their chances to win the ballpark for an evening with each ticket they purchase.

As part of the prize package, the grand prize winner will receive the keys to the ballpark for three hours, where they will have unbridled access to the clubhouse, playing field, and much more. The winner and 50 guests will be treated to all-you-can-eat buffet and open bar at the Reading Eagle Character Pool Party. They will also have the option to utilize the video board, public address announcer, and mascots when they play baseball, kickball, or softball on the field.

“For the first time in our storied history, we’re handing the keys to FirstEnergy Stadium to a member of our passionate fan base,” said Fightin Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. “All you need to do is purchase any type of tickets for the 2013 season — single-game, mini-plan, or group tickets — on Wednesday to be entered for this priceless opportunity.”

It’s been an interesting offseason for the former Reading Phillies: a new name, new branding, and lots of changes to FirstEnergy Stadium. Heck, one would be tempted to buy tickets just for a chance to win this nice prize — even if you never planned on redeeming the tickets.
