The High Desert Mavericks of the California League are looking for an experienced minor league executive to serve as our new General Manager. Previous GM experience not necessary; affiliated AGMs and Sales and Marketing directors are encouraged to apply!
The Mavericks recently signed a 3-year lease in High Desert at $1/year with three one-year options, so the club has an excellent head start toward profitability.
The Mavericks are owned by Main Street Baseball, LLC, which also owns the Quad Cities River Bandits. Under Main Street, the River Bandits have increased attendance by nearly 75% a year (from 141,000 to 240,000). Main Street seeks an ambitious, determined young executive who can orchestrate a similar turnaround in High Desert.
We are looking for consistent growth in all areas, particularly sales and sponsorships. Our new GM must be highly sales oriented, and he/she will serve as the face of our franchise. He/she will oversee sponsorships, ticket and group sales efforts, stadium operations, food & beverage, budgeting, advertising, marketing/promotions, expense management, community relations, non-baseball events, our excellent relationship with the Mariners and all other aspects of running a team.
Our new GM must be a skilled communicator, as this job requires constant interaction with all team employees, Adelanto city officials, Mariners and MiLB personnel and community leaders. That means you must write cogently, speak articulately, think critically, and present persuasively.
Candidates MUST have at least 3 years of experience in affiliated baseball and a proven record of sales success. Candidates must be able to manage a staff, stretch a budget and possess a strong motivation to succeed.
