Lemurs successfully launch new ballpark

Laredo LemursA big crowd of almost 6,000 was on hand last night to see the Laredo Lemurs (independent; American Association) open their new ballpark, Uni-Trade Stadium.

Laredo baseball fans had to wait a while to see the sport return to the city; the market went without baseball last year while the new ballpark was under construction.

The new home of the Lemurs features a stadium club with an air‐conditioned sports bar, an 11,000-square-foot kids’ play area, team offices, clubhouses, and maintenance areas. We plan on being down there in June; it seems like a good year for new ballparks in the Lone Star State.
