Midwest Collegiate LeagueSome more All-Star news for you: Whiting, Indiana is hosting the 2011 Midwest Collegiate League All-Star Game at Oil City Stadium at Standard Diamonds Park next week on July 13, with Ron Kittle serving as master of ceremonies.

The game starts at 7:05 p.m., preceded by a scout evaluation and workout by the MCL All-Star Players the day before.

“We are extremely thankful to Mayor Joe Stahura and his staff for all of their hard work and planning to create a memorable All-Star Game as well as allowing our league to showcase their beautiful new stadium in downtown Whiting,” said league commissioner Don Popravak.

The League is partnering with the ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter for the event with their “Step Up To The Plate” campaign to fight Lou Gehrig’s disease. Their volunteers will be on hand to help generate awareness at the All-Star event.  All tickets are $8 general admission tickets, with $2 from each ticket sold being donated to the ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter.
